Primary Eye Care: Comprehensive Eye Exam
What to Expect
Clear Vision Starts Here
Whether it’s your first time in our chair or you’re back for your annual check-up, we want your visit to be as smooth as possible. Your eye care visit is more than just a vision test; it’s a vital check of your eyes’ overall health, a comprehensive eye exam. Below, you’ll find everything you need to prepare for your appointment so you can focus on seeing, and feeling, your best."
What to Expect: Your Eye Exam
Whether you’re here for a routine check-up, a follow-up from a screening, or to address a specific eye concern, our goal is to protect your vision and overall health.
During Your Visit
Medical History: We’ll review your health history, current medications, and family history of eye issues.
Vision & Health Tests: You’ll undergo a series of tests to check your sight and screen for eye diseases.
Dilation: We may use special drops to dilate your pupils, allowing the doctor to get a clear view of your eye’s internal structure.
Consultation: Your doctor will discuss the results and, if needed, provide a prescription for glasses or contact lenses.
Good to Know
Timing: A routine exam usually takes less than an hour. If you have complex symptoms or pain, please allow extra time for additional testing.
Screening vs. Exam: A vision screening (like at a school or pediatricians) isn’t a substitute for an exam. If you’ve had one, please bring the results with you. A comprehensive exam is necessary to get the full picture of your health.
Emergencies: If you are experiencing a sudden vision emergency, do not wait for an appointment - seek immediate medical treatment.
Preparation Checklist
Current Eyewear: Bring your glasses and/or contact lens boxes.
Medication List: Include all current prescriptions and supplements.
Insurance & ID: Bring your vision and medical insurance cards.
