About Dr. Harvey Yang

Dr. Yang is dedicated to providing the Lihue community with compassionate, high-quality eye care. With a focus on primary care and eye disease management, Dr. Yang combines clinical expertise with a patient-first approach to ensure every member of your family sees their best.

He earned his Doctorate of Optometry from the University of California, Berkeley, College of Optometry. During his clinical rotations at Veterans Affairs Medical Centers in San Francisco and Palo Alto, he gained extensive experience in managing ocular diseases and treating eye manifestations of various systemic diseases, such as hypertensive and diabetic retinopathy, as well as specialty contact lens fittings for keratoconus and various corneal pathologies.

Dr. Yang has a unique background, having graduated from Peking University, School of Medicine with a Bachelor of Medicine (US equivalent of Doctor of Medicine) degree in 1993, and completed his four years of Ophthalmology Residency training.

Clinical Interests

• Glaucoma Management: Utilizing advanced diagnostics to preserve long-term vision.

• Myopia Control: Specialized fittings for Orthokeratology (Ortho-K) and Scleral lenses for Keratoconus and other corneal conditions.

• Binocular Vision Management: Custom prism glass fittings to treat diplopia (double vision).

Life on Kauai

When not in the clinic, Dr. Yang enjoys hiking and playing the ukulele. He is proud to call Kauai home and looks forward to seeing you at your next eye exam.
